Please note: if you have visited this page before, you may have to click your refresh button to see the latest updates. UPDATED: January 15, 2008 Happy New Year! The Half Scale Tower is now up for sale in the Showcase. Click on the Showcase link above to check it out! My current project is still The Christmas Shop on the Corner. This one is taking quite a while to finish - I'm being very picky with this one. Unfortunately, it will not be finished in time for this Christmas, but maybe that's best as it may take a while to fill it up with all those great holiday minis in time for next Christmas! I am also starting a new series of shops. Stay tuned for more updates! Amy's Creative Philosophy (such as it is and will be unless I change my mind): What I have found while making miniature structures is that you really don't know where you're going until you get there. What I have past listed on this page as my current projects always seemed to 'morph' into something else. I suppose that is the way of art. My mother was an oil painter. I remember as a young child watching her begin a portrait of my father on a vertical canvas. Halfway through the process she simply turned the canvas to a horizontal position and changed the view to giant waves crashing on red cliffs. It was one of her greatest paintings (and I'll leave the psychology of THAT up to you). If you haven't figured this out yet, this is my caveat. What I write in the sentences above any blue type I will deny if necessary because I've learned that I don't know what I'm doing until it's done:)
For those of you who are new to my work: I do not make custom miniatures. Miniature structures are my hobby, and I learned long ago not to make a hobby into anything resembling a business. I do not make the same thing twice - everything is a one-of-a-kind piece because I need that creative freedom. I'm one of those left-brain Monday, right-brain Tuesday people. My 'real' job is making educational software for children (http://www.littlefingers.com). My miniature work is sold on this site, eBay or to local buyers who happen to have, well, found me on eBay. Thank you for your interest! Amy
