The Harbor Inn was created using the shell of a front-opening Walmer Mulberry Lane dollhouse. The front facade is cut stone on the first level (real stones, folks, I cut 'em myself) and clapboard on the second level. The windows are custom made. The Harbor Inn was furnished with primarily Bespaq furniture - some of which had been reupholstered in fabrics to coordinate with the wallpaper. The pictures on this page show the Harbor Inn as it was partially furnished before it was sold. ![]() The first floor of the Inn consists of a reception area and parlor with fireplace and bookshelves, and a nautical tavern.
The parlor is lit with two sconces over the fireplace as well as a crystal ceiling fixture by Rosel's. There is a false staircase at the rear of the room behind the reception desk. The room is decorated in gold and beige with a pretty floral area rug and walnut wood floors. The picture and frame above the fireplace is by Jim Coates. The mantle clock is by Brooke Tucker, tea set on coffee table (complete with little lemon slices) by Lola Renner, and the pedestal dish of delectible goodies is by Janet Uyetake. All the furniture in this room is by Bespaq. The Harbor Tavern has a wonderful mural of a harbor and ships over a black beadboard wainscot. The 'glass' shelving in the back of the tavern has a mirror back and is lit from above. The bar has two windsor barstools - and even a bar fruit box (at right). The tavern also includes a table and two windsor chairs, and both the tabletop and the back shelving have decoration made to resemble gold tole painting on black. ![]()
The second floor of the Inn is a two room suite with bedroom and sitting area separated by french doors. I love how the light comes into both these rooms through these wonderful french doors!
All the furniture in this room is by Bespaq with the exception of the nightstand. The room is lit with two sconces flanking a mirror by Jim Coates, and a bedside lamp with silk shade.
The sitting room of the second floor suite has a gold fireplace with a faux marble mantle (by Jim Coates). I apoligize for the darkness of this picture. There are two reupholstered chairs and a table, and a lit 'minibar' in the back. The minibar is lit from above, and the room is lit with two candle sconces over the fireplace. The painting and frame above the fireplace are also by Jim Coates.
The third floor of the Inn is the blue toile suite. Everything in this room has been coordinated using matching fabrics and wallpaper - even the lampshades (but my lousy camera can't show that)! ![]() All the furniture in this room is by Bespaq, and there is a beautiful blue cameo mirror by Jim Coates. Rose painting is by artist June Field - June, if your listening, please make more mini paintings! ![]() ![]() |
